Tea

A reason to get up and act
A reason to flower in the night
A dream of an amplifier to be built
A refrigerator in need of screws
Recording devices and bolts and keyboards
Small children fighting
Throwing salt in my tea of spices
Little monsters
The chaos of retraining
The loss of keys
New spice in your life
You wake, and now it is time to go!
Best wishes on the road.

Having missed too many classes
I hope not to fail
But in time two princes know
A path to a way through
A threat of expulsion for being drunk on campus
A panic attack next day
Get thee to the documents
Get thee to the storm
Let it be seen and known
You leave it be and let it stack up
You produce what needs to be done
You fly to the fight

The Organs of the State Wind Up

The organs of the state

Are being wound up

Like artwork

Clockwork, let us say

The Chinese Great Firewall

Has eyes everywhere

Some venture in

Citizen intelligence

All those Chinese students

Being debriefed when they get home

The symbol of the twilight

Is the ox

With its sleepy eyes

The Americans may not censor

But they also watch

The remixing of music with samples

Shall be prohibited

Some think this is not right

Re-mix Revolution!

And only Rand Paul and Perhaps Bernie Sanders

Oppose the rampant data collection

The organs of the state wind up

Like mousetraps

And the corporate state

Sucks up trillions of data points

Flickr makes it tough to use

Without signing up and signing in

Or perhaps it’s just a dysfunctional site

Too much data for my connection

Some value the Earth over property

Others value property over peace

Do not join up

Daylight 6-27

At least one prescription to pick up

Breakfast with Dad

Who did not beat me up about finding a job this time

Thank goodness

Interesting dreams

Highly complex games

Which carried over from one awakening to the next

Cephalopod human hybrids

Cat sits upon the notebook, as per usual

The table which cannot be cleaned

Because the coating has peeled away from the particle board

Nothing to  pawn

Nothing to plant

Nine cigarettes left

Web design to be done

Cleaning spree with mom and aunt yesterday

Although the floors are still incredibly dirty

They have been swept

And although the tables have been picked up

They are still cluttered and dirty

And the place looks and feels galaxies better

The volume of beer cans and trash removed —

And at least I am not stuck without coffee

Although I fear I am still out of venlafaxine

Even with the prescription

More oracle cards found

So I have a full deck now

Classical on the radio for writing – wordless

A space heater runs and AC off, although it is 69 degrees out

Chinese food with Dad and the aunt last night

If only I could find the charger for that camera

I could have $300

Or to hard reset the tablet

35 cents to my name

Thanks to my readers who helped me break my record of 27 likes in one day and reach 36 on the 25th and then on the 26th break the record of 36 and reach 53. Also reached 1000 likes last week. Also that rainbow at the top today is quite nice, I think.

Review of James Radcliffe’s ‘Present Reflections’ ambient album

Let me say first that James Radcliffe is at Here, for his blog on the music for the album, the album is here, and other albums are here. The deluxe version has three track that are duplicates of others except they are 11.5 minutes instead of 5.5 minutes. One of those and its 5.5 minute version are only on the deluxe. That would be track 5 and 8. The album is 3 pounds, or two for the 4 track album. My notes from the 3rd listen are mostly as follows:

Very Beautiful. Very Calming. Powerful. Good for early morning or late evening relaxation or meditation. Worth the 3 pounds.

Track 1. Repeating slow tones. A feeling of orange. Cello and piano. The cello pulsing. The piano repeating a tone.

Track 2. A bit higher background energy. Still relaxing. Less pulsing. Buzzing. Some cello tones in the foreground. foreground less prominent.

Track 3. More repeating piano or synth. But with multiple tones per repetition. The cello coasting in and out. Also beautiful and relaxing.

Track 4. A double tone and a continuous string. A bit more dissonance to the foreground intentionally. A bit more variability to the foreground. Still very nice. Still very chill.

Bonus Track 5. Orinal 5.5 minutes track. Higher energy foreground. Rapid cycling strings. Reminiscent of bees. Followed by higher pitched string impinging at various points. The bees may be intended as back ground but the intensity makes them read as foreground. I find it less relaxing, though still powerful. Some more varied to the fore in two places. With a building energy and loudness. Ringing you out with those at the end.

Bonus track 6. Longer version of 1.

Bonus track 7. Longer version of two.

Bonus track 8. Longer version of bonus track 5.

Wendy’s

Sitting in Wendy’s killing time before treatment group
I suddenly realize they are playing classical music at clearly audible volume
And have been the whole time
This glades my heart
And slightly soothes my brain
Though my nerves are still frayed from work, traffic, and Maxwell House
A good choice by a corporation
Injecting calm into the frantic American life
But I still cannot wait
For sleep
And morning writing and first coffee again
And pursuit of the wish

On that note- a dream

Recently had an interesting dream. Playing some nine inch nails out in winter-city-night. possible ‘wish’ or ‘gave up’ whichever one starts with ‘perfect little dream / the kind that hurts the most’ . Then in a bathroom yellow lit with big Python up on the shower rod. Coiled, not entwined (on not around). Something about this dream seemed highly significant. The place was pretty yellow too. The light like ‘the day the world went away’ music video. I was going through a stack of CDs. In addition to nine inch nails there was a CD of Queen playing cover songs and a Primus disc. For some reason I settled on Wynona’s Big Brown Beaver (a primus song).  All seemed right with the world, snake included. All that gobbledygook from the bible about snakes doesn’t crop up until one is awake.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Incidentally if the above thing (last post) about ‘fish’ proved true, we could give up radio. You’d have to give up a lot of technology. And check to see if there is a change in the radio background noise a few years after we developed radio.
